Week 23 - Cousins and Friends Getting Mission Calls


Week 23 June 18, 2018
Heyo!  I’m on!  How crazy that Madi got her call to Chile!!!  And Kimberly is going to the Alabama Birmingham mission!!!  Wait, Clayton is going to Japan??? How exciting for all of them!
I read the email that Grammy Williams sent out, Madi’s mission is right above mine!  And she’s just barely missing the dedication of the temple here!

Marshall is awesome!!!! For his mission I think he is going to go.. Spanish speaking ....Texas, Mexico, or Asia!!!  (We said she could pick a language, a state, a country and a continent)

Flying definitely helped prepare me for the mission and the travels.  When you are on your own it’s always different than when you’re with people.  When you’re with people, and they don’t speak your language, it’s even more different!  I know that traveling on his own will help prepare him! Living in different parts also helps to adapt faster to the cambios!

Thanks for sending off my package! That’s okay about the contacts, I’m good not using them for a year, and if I do need them, I’ll ask for my prescription and I can buy some here.. but I’m sure the glasses will be just fine :)

That’s rough for you that you’re homeschooling the children through the summer, but good that they are continuing their studies!  Tell Marshall to get on his grammar. If he needs to learn a different language he is going to learn the grammar of that language, and its easier if he knows grammar of English!

I love the emails I get from Grammy, you guys, Portia or Jason and Grandma & Grandpa.  Tell them to send more stories!

Week 13 - My 3 Month Mark!

Week of April 9, 2018 Hola hola!  Today marks 3 months in the misión!!!  I’m on! Here are some of my highlights so far.  Getting to know the people in both Mexico and Chile, watching conference in Spanish, and visiting the temple! Being able to experience the country of Chile.  Becoming fluent in Spanish. Strengthening my testimony. Impacted other people for the good! I’ve also been able to Mexico Temple and the Concepción Temple (the outside).  Missionaries in the misión Concepción don’t get to visit the Santiago temple... are you on the Facebook page for my misión? I sang a duet (kind of a duet) for a practice and there might be a video.. if so, don’t laugh, I was super nervous!!! I feel like I understood most all of General Conference (90 percent!) when we watched it in Spanish.  But I want to read it in English so that I can actually study the words.. Haha, it’s much much easier understanding Spanish then it is speaking Spanish......

Week 8 - Elder Bragg, Speaking Spanish and Hard Work

Week 8 March 5, 2018 Wow, the time here has flown! I only have 4 weeks left in this transfer! Crazy!!! The days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days.. This week I got called on during a zone conference (with Elder Bragg of the 70) and I actually understood the question and answered (i think) decently! The conference with him was super amazing though, I really love hearing and learning more about what I should be studying right now! I think I'm trying to balance 6 or 7 different topics of study, along with language! Its crazy but so good! My brain has never hurt this much but never felt so good at the same time! I have a sick watch line (sorry, no pictures) and my freckles are coming out! Makes me so happy!!! I love the sun, and am trying to enjoy it before it gets super cold! There are SOO many dogs here! Usually they are behind gates and or are sleeping, but at times there are a lot or really big ones around us, and one starts barking, and then the othe...

Week 24 - Teaching in 3 Languages!

Hey all! So this week has been super crazy! My friend Hermana Rueda finished her mission and leaves tomorrow for her house.. Tomorrow the new missionaries come to the mission office and... GUESS WHAT!!! IM TRAINING!!!!!!!!!!!! How crazy is that? I feel like the blind leading the blind.. But I know that God can do all things, and that with his help, I can teach someone how to be a missionary... But other than that, I’m staying here in Parral YAY! This Saturday we are going to have the baptism of Chelo (haitian) and he is super excited for his day to finally get here! Have you all seen pictures of the temple in Concepcion yet?  If not, look them up! It’s so pretty! I can’t wait for the open house and then the dedication! Can I just say how hard it is speaking 3 languages?  I’m getting better with my Spanish. My English is worse than before, but sometimes I teach in English also, and sometimes we have people who don’t understand English or Spanish so we speak Cr...
